If you need help with the road code or want to build your confidence on the road but are not able to pay for private lessons yourself, you may be eligible for Driver License support from Tasman District Council (TDC).
For example, this support may be a driver assessment with a professional driver instructor before sitting your restricted or some extra training on the road code before you go for your learners. TDC may also be able to help with transportation costs supporting at risk young drivers in remote areas who may have no other way to get to the driver testing.
If you think you may benefit from this, or know of someone who may need this, please fill out a simple on-line form or contact the Council's road safety liaison on 03 543 8551. Please note that the funding cannot be used to physically pay for a learner or a restricted license as this service is covered by the Ministry of Social development.
